How are Gun Transfers/Transactions handled?
PLEASE NOTE: Internet transfers may only be picked up by the person whose name is listed as the buyer on the invoice/paperwork from the online seller. No exceptions. Sorry for an inconvenience this may cause, but this is due to recent court rulings.
For Regular (non NFA) Firearms: You find a firearm to buy either through an online auction, classified listing or a internet dealers website. DO NOT SUBMIT THIS FORM UNTIL YOU HAVE WON OR FINALIZED THE PURCHASE. You will then finalize the arrangements to buy the firearm with the seller and get either the email address or fax number that we will need to send a copy of our FFL to the seller. You would then pay for the firearm directly to the seller. At that time you would complete the Form on this page, and we will send a copy of our FFL to the seller. After they receive your payment and our FFL they will ship the firearm to us at Lanco Tactical LLC. We will accept transfer guns shipped directly to us from non FFL holders (Private sellers) but they MUST send us a copy of their current Drivers License with the firearm.
After we receive the firearm we will contact you and let you know that it has arrived and that it is ready for pickup. Just because the tracking number says that it is delivered does not mean that it is ready for pickup. We must log the gun in and process it though our computer system and we receive a lot of deliveries every day. Once we contact you, then you can come in to the store and complete the required paperwork (background check and all state and fed. forms) The total cost to you for firearms shipped to us is $55.00 (breakdown is: our fee $50.00; state fees $2.00; and $3.00 PA sales tax).
For in person, Face to Face Transfers: You do not need to complete the form on this page for in person face to face private transfers. This is when both the seller and buyer are present in our store to conduct a gun transfer; the cost is $44.40 (breakdown is: our fee $40.00; state fees $2.00; and $2.40 PA sales tax). This is typically only for handguns as PA law does not require a background check to be done when a longgun is sold privately. We can and will do face to face transfer for longguns if they buyer and or seller would prefer it be done. No appointment is needed for private transfers, however we ask that you come in at least 45 minutes prior to our closing time.
NOTE: For All (Internet or Face to Face) Handguns, Stripped Frames, or Receiver transfers: As per federal law, you MUST be a PA resident and 21 years of age or older in order for us to complete the background check and transfer the firearm to you.
Multiple Firearms: Additional firearms being transferred at the same time via internet are $25.00 each and face to face are $20.00 each for all firearms except handguns (as defined by PA law). Handguns are the normal fee regardless of how many are being transferred (Either $50.00 each for internet or $40.00 each for face to face).
If you have any other questions about the transfer process please feel free tocontact us
For NFA Weapons: Normally, you would find the item you want to purchase and agree to a price with the seller/dealer. You would then contact us so we can send a copy of our FFL and NFA SOT to the dealer to begin the required transfer paperwork (NFA Form 3/4). Once we receive the NFA item (An NFA Form 3 will typically take anywhere from 10 days to 4 weeks for the NFA to process and approve, if it is a NFA Form 4 transfer they typically take 4 - 12 weeks) we will contact you and arrange a time to have you come and inspect the item and start the process of the Form 4 (either by paper or Eform). We have the equipment on site to do fingerprints and photos as well. This service is provided for $25 per person, per item. If you choose to file by paper you will then send in all the paperwork to the ATF & your Local CLEO to begin the final transfer process (this will typically take between 10-14 months for the NFA to complete). If you choose to file by Eform 4 you will first need to create an Eform account if you do not already have one, more information about the Eform system can be found here. Currently we are seeing Eform 4 approvals in about 6-8 months. Regardess of if you choose to file by paper or eform, the cost for NFA transfers is $120.00 per item plus PA sales tax and the PICS fee (PICS fee is for firearms only, not suppressors). As per Federal law we can only transfer NFA items to PA residents. If you have any other questions please feel free tocontact us. Face to face NFA transfers are handled in a little different manner but the transfer cost is the same. For more information about NFA weapons click here.
