How are internet gun transfers/transactions handled?
PLEASE NOTE: Internet transfers may only be picked up by the person whose name is listed as the buyer on the invoice/paperwork from the online seller. No exceptions. Sorry for an inconvience this may cause, but this is due to recent court rulings.
For Regular (non NFA) Firearms: You find a firearm you want to buy either through an online auction, classified listing or a internet dealers website. DO NOT SUBMIT THIS FORM UNTIL YOU HAVE WON OR FINALIZED THE PURCHASE. You would then finalize the arrangements to buy the firearm with the seller and get either the email address or fax number that we will need to send a copy of our FFL to the seller. You would then pay for the firearm directly to the seller and we would send a copy of our FFL to them as well. After they receive your payment and our FFL they will ship the firearm to us at Lanco Tactical LLC. We will accept transfer guns shipped directly to us from non FFL holders but they MUST send us a copy of their current Drivers License with the firearm.
After we receive the firearm we will contact you and let you know that it has arrived and that it is ready for pickup. Just because the tracking number says that it is delivered does not mean that it is ready for pickup. We must log the gun in and process it though our computer system and we receive a lot of deliveries every day. Once we contact you, then you can come in to the store and complete the required paperwork (background check and all state and fed. forms) The total cost to you for firearms shipped to us is $44.40 (breakdown is our fee $40.00 state fees $2.00 and $2.40 sales tax).
For face to face transfers: This is when both the seller and buyer are present in our store to conduct the transfer; the cost is $33.80 (breakdown is our fee $30.00 state fees $2.00 and $1.80 sales tax).
Multiple Firearms: Additional firearms being transferred at the same time either via internet or face to face are $15.00 each for all firearms except handguns. Handguns are the normal fee regardless of how many are being transferred (Either $40.00 each for internet or $30.00 each for face to face).
If you have any other questions about the transfer process please feel free to contact us
For NFA Weapons: Normally, you would find the item you want to purchase and agree to a price with the seller/dealer. You would then contact us so we can send a copy of our FFL and NFA SOT to the dealer to begin the required transfer paperwork (NFA Form 3/4). Once we receive the NFA item (An NFA Form 3 will typically take anywhere from 10 days to 4 weeks for the NFA to process and approve, if it is a NFA Form 4 transfer they typically take 4 - 12 weeks) we will contact you and arrange a time to have you come and inspect the item and provide you with all the paperwork you need to begin the NFA Form 4 process. (We have the equipment on site to do fingerprints and photos as well. This service is provided for $25 per person per item.) You will then send in all the paperwork to the ATF & your Local CLEO to begin the final transfer process (this will typically take between 8-12 months for the NFA to complete). The cost for NFA transfers is $80 plus PA sales tax and the PICS fee (PICS fee is for firearms only, not suppressors). If you have any other questions please feel free to contact us. Face to face NFA transfers are handled in a little different manner but the transfer cost is the same. Form more information about NFA weapons click here.
